The black bat flower or “tacca chantieri” is a flowering plant under Dioscoreaceae. The plant grows up to 12 inches across with long whiskers that grow up to 28 inches. It is known for its bat shape. It is found in the Southeast Asia regions such as Southern China, Malaysia, and Thailand. It looks like a scary flower that insects are afraid to be close to it. If you are afraid of bats, don’t try to take a look at it.

What makes it scary are its fruits that look like an eyeball. The fruits are actually white berries. The plant can be found on upland soils and hardwood. It is described as a plant having a stout green stem and its stalks have red spots. When this plant comes in contact with humans, it causes phytophotodermatitis and it also causes blindness when comes in contact with the eyes.

Corpse Flower or “amorphophallus titanium” is an inflorescence flowering plant having an unwanted odor which smells like a rotten animal. It can be found in Western Sumatra. It can grow up to 10 feet in height. Corpse flower needs seven years before it blooms or sometimes longer. Because of the rotten smell of corpse flower, it attracts carrion-eating beetles and flesh flies.

Rafflesia is a parasitic flowering plant that contains 28 types of species. It is found in Southeastern Asia. It has no stem, leaves, and roots but only a flower. It weighs up to 10 kilograms and can grow over 39 inches in diameter.
